Well, woman exams are a type of preventative care offered to women in order to keep them safe and healthy and that includes pelvic examination, pap smears, mammogram, STD screening and HPV immunization depending on your age. This is also an opportunity for you and your doctor to discuss any gynecologic questions and concerns.

Some STI is transmitted by direct sexual contact while others can also be transmitted via blood and other bodily fluids.

Treatment of abnormal pap smear, colposcopy, LEEP Biopsy
Pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer. HPV has been known as an etiology for cervical cancer. Follow up of abnormal pap smear is very important. Often, a pocedure known as colposcopy is needed with biopsy to ensure the extent of the abnormality is not more than it appears. This will be discussed with you after your biopsy results. Both of these procedures are office based and are associated with minimal risks. They takes about 30 minutes to perform. We advise the patient to receive some pain medication within 2 hours prior to procedure.
Treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, and uterine polyps.
If you are suffering from heavy and prolonged uterine bleeding and become anemic, you might have fibroid, polyp and at times other reasons for heavy bleeding that needs to be evaluated. Some times there are other reason for heavy bleeding, like hormonal factors or rarely precancer or cancer can also present with abnormal bleeding.
Evaluation for abnormal bleeding some times require some testing or even Biopsy from uterus and depend on the etiology we will discuss with you what treatment suits your medical condition.

Treatment of these symptoms require complete evalution including understanding severity of the symptoms, prior failed treatment, other coexistent medical condition and etc.
Some women experience difficulty controlling their urine and incontinence, this can at time cause significant distress. Other problems associated with aging and child bearing is uterine prolapse. that means the uterus or bladder descends significantly lower than it's normal position, this can cause significant discomfort, problems with urination or emptying or the bowel.
